Elegant Fondant Cake Design

Working with fondant can be fun. I don’t know anyone who actually likes to eat the stuff but, hey, it looks neat. I am not generally crazy about designs that are too busy. (Hey! That rhymed a little!) I like simple, elegant displays instead. So when a friend asked me to make a baby shower cake with “soft colors” and left the rest up to me, I went with this design.

I made the fondant color by adding and mixing a few drops of edible color. And used a few tools (cutters for the flower) to achieve the look. the topper is made of fondant also. I made flowers with gumpaste too, which is said is more durable. But the fondant is easier to work with, in my opinion, and pretty durable as well!

I also made some meringue pops, which I will write another post about with the recipe later! they were so cute and delicious 😀
