I was watching a video – on instagram – of an artist pouring columns of paints on a semi-vertical canvas and, as I watched the lines smoothly flow downwards, began to wonder how an obstacle would disrupt that flow. Much like how falling in love can disrupt your life. perhaps you are living a peaceful and happy life and you fall in love with the wrong person who brings pain and agony into it. Or, on a more positive note, perhaps your life has been dull. Monotonous. And meeting someone leads to more joyous times. either way, if love doesn’t disrupt your life in some way it probably isn’t love in the first place. So this became the theme for my “Love Disrupts” series of paintings.
